Mondo's

Wonderful restaurant. I came here for a business meeting yesterday and had a wonderful dining experience. From the beginning to the end the service was outstanding. Not to mention the food here is divine. I ordered the beef stroganoff and was very pleased. The dish was very tasteful and fresh. I will definitely be bringing my wife to eat here.

Givanni's

Heard great things about this place so my wife and I came here for dinner the other night and we were not disappointed. I really liked the atmosphere, the service was great and the food was amazing. If you're in downtown Iowa City this place is a definite must.

ATLAS WORLD GRILL

This place was okay, I wasn't too crazy about anything I tried and I think it's a bit overpriced for the food you get.

THE MILL RESTAURANT

Came here when I was in Iowa City because of the good ratings on yelp, however, it's a dive bar and not much more. The food is mediocre, like any bar food. However, I heard they have great live music, which I would really like to come back to check out.

The Blue Strawberry Coffee Company

I stop in here quite a bit for coffee or to grab a bite to eat. The coffee is great and they also offer really good smoothies. They offer soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries and desserts. Everything I've tried thus far has been very good. It's a quaint little place and I will continue to come here.

TEXAS ROADHOUSE


This place is okay, nothing to write home about. It always seems to be really busy and there is always a long wait. The service has never been great, we always seem to get a rude server and impatient server. The food is mediocre, if I come here I either get a steak or ribs or a combo. It's okay, nothing great.

SUSHI HOUSE

I've been here quite a few times. The service is always friendly and the sushi is always consistent and good. It's worth a try.

EL SUPER BURRITO

This place is one of those holes in the wall. The service is friendly and the food is authentic and delicious.  

Konomi

My wife's family was in town last week so we took them here for teppan and sushi. Everyone loved it and raved about it the whole night. We were seated right away at one of the Teppan tables. Our service was impeccable and the cook at our table was fantastic, he was very entertaining and showed us a great time. For sushi we ordered the Captain Crunch, Half Baked, Fire Cracker, Beef and Konomi Rolls. They were all fantastic, I don't think I can choose just one. For teppan, I ordered the Chef's Choice which is Rib-eye and shrimp or scallop. The rib-eye was cooked to perfection and the scallops were great. We will definitely be coming back again.

BROWN DEER GOLF COURSE

I think this is a really nice course, I normally golf in Cedar Rapids but occasionally I will come to Iowa City to golf here. The greens are nice and there is a nice challenge to the course. 

Vesta..Good Dining Experience

My wife has always wanted to try Vesta so we came here a couple days ago for dinner. I really liked the atmosphere and how the restaurant was set up. The hostess was great, she was very friendly and outgoing and was able to answer any questions we had. Our server was a little busy and seemed somewhat flustered but was knowledgeable about the food and wine. The food was great and so was the wine, we will definitely be coming back again.

The Flying Wienie

I've eaten here a few times and this place is okay. They offer hot dogs, Italian Sausages, Italian Beefs, etc. I've tried almost everything on the menu but whenever I come here I usually get a Chicago Dog with fries. It doesn't really taste like a Chicago Dog but they are decent and satisfy me most of the time.

Croissant Du Jour

I come here for lunch quite a bit. I always get the 1/2 sandwich, with a cup of soup or house salad. My favorite combo to get is Le Club with a cup of the French Onion Soup. They also have wonderful baked goods here, I would highly recommend giving it a try, it's worth it.

ZINS, a must!!!

Last week my wife's parents were in town and we took them out to eat here. My wife and I really enjoy coming here and we wanted to take her parents somewhere nice. The food here is served Tapas style but they also have The Big Plate if you prefer more food.
To start we ordered the Crab Rangoon Chips and the Bruschetta Tasting, both of which were wonderful. We each ordered a couple different items and shared with each other. We ordered the Smoked Pork Quesadilla, the Sea Scallops, the Lobster Cheesecake, the Catfish,  the Mac & Cheese, the Lobster Risotto, the Cajun Chicken Burgers and the Braised Beef Ribs, which were all great. To finish we shared the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake and the Chocolate Bread Pudding. Overall, our dining experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was great, our service was great, the food was wonderful and our drinks were great. My wife's parents loved it and insisted we bring them back the next time they are in town.

Tomaso's Pizzzzzzzzzza!

My wife and I like to eat at Tomaso's. The pizza is great! You can choose between Chicago Deep Dish, Detroit or New York Thin. We always get the Mombo Combo with the New York Thin crust which is awesome. I highly suggest trying it. The pizza here is great, the only reason I gave them three stars is because the service isn't always the best. We've had great service before but there have been many times where they aren't busy and are server seems to "not care." I do recommend trying the pizza though, it's worth it.

Daniel Arthur's, A Favorite!

My wife and I eat here quite a bit, it is one of our favorite restaurants. Daniel Arthur's is a great seafood restaurant. Whenever we come here we always get a bottle of wine, they have a great wine selection. We ate here last night and for an appetizer we got the Tiger Shrimp Sampler. They prepare the shrimp three different ways. I liked them all but may favorite was the Jalapeño Wrapped Shrimp. For dinner my wife ordered the Salmon and I ordered the Surf & Turf which is Lobster Tail and Beef Medallions, it was great. We were both very satisfied. Every time we come here our food is great and so is our service.

A New Blogger

This is the first blog I have ever written, I'm not really sure what I'm doing but I'm excited to let everyone know how I feel and to read my thoughts. I really like to travel and to go out to eat. I plan on posting pictures and reviews to all of the places I go. Hope you guys enjoy!
